Shanda Rushing

Shanda Rushing, CLT, CSA, CRM
Shanda serves as the Agent Broker and Owner of SIAA. She holds a degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Health Information Management and a degree in Healthcare Administration from Stephen’s College. Shanda is certified in risk management, long-term care, and is a certified Senior Advisor.
Before opening Southern Insurance and Annuities in 2008, Shanda gained extensive knowledge in healthcare advisement. She worked in hospital administration, was a consultant for long-term care facilities, and worked with the Georgia Rural Healthcare Association.
Shanda is a long-term resident of Statesboro, Ga, and enjoys being involved in the local community. She has been married to her life partner since 1988, and they have three children whom they are immensely proud of.
Brett Rushing

Brett Rushing
Brett serves as an Agent Owner at S.I.A.A. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Georgia Southern University with a master’s degree in Business Administration.
Before joining the family business, Brett began his career at Lockheed Martin as an Aerospace Engineer. He worked in Florida and California, where he assisted with developing missiles. Later, he served as an Engineering Consultant in Atlanta, Ga. Now he serves alongside his Mother, Shanda Rushing, as the second generation of Southern Insurance and Annuities. Brett looks forward to helping the community as his mother has since 2008.
Brett resides in Statesboro, Ga, with his fantastic girlfriend, Ashley, and their amazing dog, Drayco.
Sheri Hendrix

Sheri Hendrix
Sheri serves as an Agent for S.I.A.A. She has served as a licensed insurance agent since 2020.
Before joining Southern Insurance and Annuities, Shari ran a PAP/MCR Part D Non-Profit Agency for 15 years. She has pharmaceutical experience and worked with Pineland Behavioral Health/ Development Disabilities for three years.
Sheri is a long-term resident of Statesboro, Ga, where she resides with her husband. Together they have three children, seven grandchildren, and one cat.
Julia Calloway

June Calloway
Julia serves as an Agent for S.I.A.A. She graduated from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
Before joining Southern Insurance and Annuities, Julia worked for Candler County DFCS, and retired after 30 years of service.
Julia resides in Statesboro, Ga, with her husband, Jody Calloway.
Danny Smith

Danny Smith
Danny serves as an Agent for S.I.A.A. He graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1987. He began working with the Evans County Department of Family and Children Services upon graduation. He remained serving in Evans County until 2007 when he transferred to Bulloch County. Danny retired from Bulloch County DFCS in October of 2021 after 33 years of service.
He began working at Southern Insurance and Annuities in November of 2021. Danny resides in Statesboro, with his wife, Tamela Anderson. Together they have two sons. He is a member of the Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a deacon in 2000.
Patricia Ann Walker

Patty Walker
Patricia, or “Patty” as she is more commonly called, serves as an Agent at S.I.A.A. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology/Social Work.
He began working with the State of Georgia in child welfare upon graduation, doing foster care, adoption, and child protective services. Patty retired from the Chatham County DFCS after 32 years as the Program Administrator of Foster care, Adoptions, Resource Development and Family Services. In 2003, Patty lost her husband, Bobby Brinson. After five months of retirement, Patty decided she had. calling to continue to serve the community, and joined SIAA in 2012.
Patty remarried in February of 2022 to Brent Walker. Together, they reside in Statesboro. Patty has two children, Amber (Brinson) McCormick and Lawton Brinson; three beautiful granddaughters and two handsome grandsons. She has three step-sons, Brent Walker Jr., Lee Walker, and Brad Walker; three step-granddaughters, and two step-great-granddaughters. Patty enjoys traveling, window shopping, dining out, and new adventures. Her favorite vacations are in the mountains or on a cruise and plans to visit Ireland one day.
June Hackle

June serves as an Agent for S.I.A.A. She graduated from Georgia Southern University, and is a proud Eagle alum. After investigating other career paths (including newspaper reporter), she served for 25 years as a caseworker in the Department of Family and Children Services.
June resides in Statesboro with her husband. Together they have one handsome son and one irascible cat. Fun fact; June is a 4th-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
Jane Anderson

Jane Anderson
Jane serves as an Independent Agent at S.I.A.A.. Before joining Southern Insurance and Annuities 13 years ago, she and her husband farmed for 25 years. She also served as a commodities broker Branch Manager for five years.
Jane resides in Statesboro, with her husband. Together they have two sons. Jane enjoys helping people navigate the ins and outs of understanding insurance and what is the best fit for them and their families.
